Beer HallThis project brings together a variety of artisan crafts to document individual family histories, heirlooms, and life-experiences. Participants build mixed-media pages for a unique and rich documentation of each family’s story.

Carefully crafted narratives build images of “heart-string heroes and broken hearts” from the personal pasts of elder community members.  Family heirlooms and found objects, rescued from musty storage, spark memories that spring to life in elder voices.  Tales are gathered and collected in hand-bound volumes of “Tales from the Farm”.

Original book art pieces tell the stories of individual family members and recount family tales of lessons learned.  Hand-bound copies of mixed-media book art are available as a permanent historical record and primary-source resource for future cultural-anthropology inquiries.
